‍About this lesson: This Year 7 topic (aligned to the Victorian Curriculum Content Standard VCHHC104) introduces students to the concept of historical significance. Students review examples of historically significant events and people, and are introduced to a skills framework to assess whether an event or person is historically significant. To apply the skill of assessing cultural significance, students look at the invention of the iPhone and use the skills framework introduced in the lesson to assess its historical significance.
